What is it:

This is another popular dish in Jamaica. Liver and onions is a dish consisting of slices liver [usually pork or beef]. Onions is favored as an accompaniment to liver as the sharp flavour of onions “cut” the somewhat metallic flavour of the liver, which can be off-putting for some eaters. The liver and onions are usually fried or otherwise cooked together, but sometimes they may be fried separately and mixed together afterwards. Brown stewed cow’s liver is a very popular breakfast dish in Jamaica.

 

What to eat with:

Green bananas, white rice, fried dumplings, slices of plantain.
